Business case PBM DeoSpray was tested at the Dialysis Center of Tomei Atsugi Hospital (Japan) in 2010. The objective was to save on disinfection costs and reduce harmful chemical usage. Three competing disinfectant solutions participated in the trial:
The test areas included patient beds, pillows and nurse gowns (areas highlighted in red on photos below). After spraying each product on selected areas, microbial growth was measured during 120 hours (5 days).
Results demonstrated that only PBM DeoSpray was still effective after 5 days. PBM DeoSpray reduced disinfectant usage from daily use to once every 5 days only. As a result, Tomei Atsugi Hospital realized substantial savings on disinfectant usage while providing better and more environment-friendly healthcare to its patients.
