| Feb.11: Benchmark Electronics offsets 103 Tons of CO2 with Planet Supra (video) |
|
The main objective was to repaint buildings which paint had faded after only a few years in the tropical weather. Planet Supra was chosen because of the additional value it offers:
View the project's video below: Application step 1: roofs cleaned with high pressure water spray Surfaces have to be cleaned properly before painting, to ensure optimum paint bonding.
Application step 2: paint one coat of Planet Supra White A regular primer could have been applied, followed by two coats of Planet Supra Neo dark green. Planet Supra can be applied directly onto any surface, without primer: using it as first coat reduced work load while preserving heat reflective performance.
Application step 3: paint one coat of Planet Supra Neo Dark Green (top coat)
Planet Supra Neo, the glossy nano Thermal Barrier Paint, was manufactured in a custom-made dark green color specially for Benchmark Electronics.
103 Tons of Carbon Emissions offset, making Benchmark's facilities greener Planet Supra is certified by Carbon Offset Japan (COJ) and directly helps fight Global Warming.
Mr. Mana Chittiboonruan (right), Benchmark's Director of Facilities, receives a Carbon Offset Certificate from Mr. Arnold Denes (left), Trading Green's Managing Director.
Painted roof is expected to keep its appearance for up to 10 years without fading, peeling or cracking.
