This project was featured in two articles in daily newspaper The Bangkok Post, on April 8th (article "Beat the Heat") and June 24th 2010 (article "Hot on the Outside, Cool on the Inside").

In Thailand, the tropical temperatures and near-constant sunshine heats metal sheet roofs up to 76°C (maximum recorded by Trading Green).

Half of an 800sqm metal sheet roof was painted, temperatures were recorded simultaneously on painted and unpainted sides.

Once the metal sheet was painted with Planet Supra:

• roof was recorded to be cooler by an impressive 33%
• ceiling temperatures indoors now hardly exceed ambient outdoors temperature
• for an air-conditioned store, this would generate very substantial savings on air-conditioning
• a reference letter was granted by Carrefour Thailand

Application step 1: roof cleaned with high pressure water spray

This preparation step is essential to ensure the paint will bond perfectly with the surface it is applied on. The paint is expected to last for more than 10 years without peeling or cracking.
