| Oct'10: PTT gas station saved 46% on electricity with Thermal Barrier Paint |
|
Petroleum Authority of Thailand (PTT) is benchmarking Planet Supra Thermal Barrier Paint's insulating performance with the objective to reduce air-conditioning costs in its gas station buildings. Planet Supra had already demonstrated excellent results in a previous project in January: once painted, the office and convenience store's roofs were recorded to be up to 33°C cooler. This project was completed on October 5th 2010. The objective was to measure how much energy could be saved on air-conditioning during the rainy season, when ambient temperatures are mild, the sky overcast and rain showers frequent.

Anti-mold, crack-free and so flexible it can even be painted on fabric, it is ideally suited for application on building roof tops (metal sheet, cement tile, clay tile, concrete, tent fabric, ...), on trucks and buses, on outdoors storage tanks, pipes and equipment. Base colors white and light grey have the best heat reflective performance while custom-made colors such as blue, red or green are still cooler than traditional heat reflective coatings by more than 5ºC. All colors are available on order, the lighter the color the higher the heat reflective performance. See details of application on outdoors electronic equipment cabinets, refrigerated trucks, buses and roof tiles. |
