What: 310sqm of concrete walls waterproofed with Spotless™ ConcretePro, a German-made nanotechnology eco-friendly penetrating sealant.

Objectives: to protect wallpaper on concrete corridor walls from seepage coming from apartment bathrooms, help prevent mold.

Main choice factors: penetrating nano waterproofing lasts for the wall's lifetime, 100% green product, no smell during application, product dries quickly and saves time, costs saved by not needing to re-apply gypsum between wall and wallpaper.

Grand President Serviced Apartments is a member of Compass Hospitality Group and a well-known accomodation for travellers staying in central Bangkok, Thailand. Located in famous Sukhumvit Soi 11 alongside popular restaurants, nightclubs and shopping venues, it features 437 rooms and suites spread accross three towers.

Spotless™ ConcretePro was selected as waterproofing solution, making this project the first large scale application for the German-made nanothechnology sealant in Thailand. In Europe, it is already popular in the construction industry, where it is used to waterproof tunnels, building foundations, pipes and other concrete structures.

Application process at Grand President.

Step 1: remove wallpaper and gypsum until concrete wall is exposed.

Step 2: spray 2 coats of Spotless™ ConcretePro, until concrete surface is saturated. Let dry for 1h.

100ml to 350ml of sealant is needed only, depending on how absorbent the concrete is. It is therefore a very economical solution.

10 to 15 minutes drying time only is required between the two recommended coats. Then let dry for one hour before applying any top coat or in this project's case, wallpaper. The glue used was not water-based, else it would have been repelled by the sealant. Total curing time is 24 hours.

Nanotechnology waterproofing: a cost-effective green solution, for life.

Spotless™ ConcretePro is a water-based, non-toxic, non-inflammable, solvent-free, colorless and odorless liquid. Ready to use, it can be easily applied with brushes, rollers and spray guns on any concrete surface. Its composition is certified 100% environment-friendly by European Union standards. 

The sealant's nano silicates penetrate 2 to 3mm deep into any concrete surface. They bond with it on a molecular level and are impossible to remove, except by physically eroding the top layers. In summary, it is a waterproofing for life.

Once cured, Spotless™ ConcretePro also increases concrete's structural strength. It prevents micro-cracks and improves impact-resistance, which makes it a favorite for hardening concrete floors, for example.

The Spotless™ ConcretePro+ variant adds an oil-repellent effect to waterproofing, which is particularly useful for industrial floors, parking lots, as well as home and building driveways.
